Colour: Dark ruby-violet red; long and vibrant with good legs and a good adhesion to the side of the glass.
Bouquet: The nose is floral with violet, fruity with cherry and blackberry; it has a spicy finish with cinnamon and black pepper and the fresh presence of black liquorice and bitter almonds and peach stone.
Flavour: To the palate it is full-bodied, warm, and dry, with great personality; the tannins are soft and persuasive; the second taste is pleasant with a persistence which lingers in the aftertaste with notes of rhubarb, coffee, cocoa and menthol chocolate.
Pairing: Important main dishes, roasted red meat and extra mature cheese (canestrato with black pepper, 3 year-old ragusano).
